The Grace of One Day
Most days, I have to remind myself that grace is really just for one day—not yesterday, not tomorrow, just today. My new tattoo helps me remember that, kind of like a quiet nudge to stay present. Paul Young talks about living inside the grace of one day, and I love that idea, but honestly, it’s tough. I get stuck thinking about what went wrong yesterday or what might go wrong tomorrow. That’s why I’m so thankful for my weekly talks with my therapist, Jay—he’s great at helping me reset and see that God’s grace is already here. It shows up in little things: how I treat people, how I let go, how I rest. And when I forget again, I just try to come back to right now—because God’s with me today, and that’s enough.
