Navigating Middle School

Middle school can seem scary… it can be, there’s no doubt. I absolutely do not buy into the “you have to survive middle school narrative”. I totally believe a child can thrive and flourish in middle school.

I've helped thousands of families navigate it, and my wife and I had to do so with our son and daughter. You might be asking, 'How can my child be at their best in middle school?' That’s a legit question. And, maybe, you might be wondering, 'How can we do this better?'

In a world that can seem more complicated for middle school students than ever before, I hope to give you practical tips, biblical insight, and words of encouragement. Please hear me: it's not about just surviving middle school. It's about flourishing in it. I do not believe middle school should be a year you white-knuckle your way through, only to wish as quickly as possible that you could forget it ever existed. In fact, I think that middle school can be a season of growth, good friends, new passions, and real happiness. And I don't say that because I'm hopeful for you. I say that because I've seen it in thousands of families. I love helping families get confident, connected, and clear as they enter one of life's biggest transitions, and again, not just to survive it, but to thrive!

Let’s chat about how I might be able to help

Rooted in Faith. Grounded in Experience.

This work is deeply personal to me. As a Christian leader, longtime middle school principal, and parent, I understand the emotional weight this transition can carry. It’s not just about navigating a new building, changing classes, and managing increased academic pressure—it’s about helping your child grow in confidence, courage, and character. My approach blends spiritual insight with educational experience, helping families build scaffolding around their children—not to protect them from every challenge, but to guide and support them as they begin to step out on their own with faith and resilience.

You're not alone in this. Let's navigate it together.
